A snippet about the role…

The focus is to be data driven and monetise the data flowing through the systems. This is a new team which has been functioning for the past 3 years and already generating $130m in revenue.

You are a natural born leader & love mentoring people within the agile Data Science Discovery & Development team. Building and maintaining APIs is your jam and related frameworks and supporting documentation to implement the consumption of data.

Building data validation, reconciliation and metadata management components is your bread and butter, to support the data governance and information management process. As well as data models and analytics-ready datasets to support data science and the data development processes. You love writing code and automating from end to end.


What kind of human you are

You will be a collaborative kinda person, with ninja level listening skills as you will be working in a cross-functional agile environment. You thrive on building new solutions and ensuring they are compatible and adheres to corporate standards. Python is your love language and ideally, you’ve got some GCP know-how but if you’ve got other cloud provider experience then no biggie!

You’re able to decipher technical mumbo-jumbo to non-techy people among us. You love you some problem-solving and troubleshooting comes as a second nature to you!

Skills we are on the hunt for

• Solid chops in Python/GoLang/Java
• GCP or other cloud platform like AWS
• Kubernetes is also a nice to have
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar
• Clear and in-depth understanding of core DevOps, Continuous Delivery philosophies and practices across the infrastructure, developmental and cultural dimensions
• Understanding of the application development lifecycle
• Implementing DevOps & CD solutions using commonly used pipelining tools and techniques.
• Engineering concerns (and methods to overcome) such as avoiding brittle or rigid solution implementations, creating evolvable solutions and providing developer flexibility while retaining a healthy level of organisational consistency.
• Demonstrated experience with containerisation, Kubernetes and application development frameworks is essential.
